Santa Ynez Valley Horse Property News

Here's a little something about me...

I am a native of Miami, Florida transplanted to Northern California in 1990.  Finding the weather not quite warm enough, I gravitated to Los Angeles.  I met my husband once on a trip there in 1992 and we met again by chance when I moved there six months later...the rest is history.

While living in the San Fernando Valley, I earned my Bachelor's degree in Anthropology with a minor in Biology from California State University, Northridge.

Through college I worked in childcare and as an English tutor to children and adults.  After graduating, I worked for seven years as an office manager in Burbank.

In 2003 my husband and I decided to pursue our dream of country life and we basically went on a "radical sabbattical".  It was a very challenging process, but worth every bit of it.  Doing so allowed us to rediscover ourselves and explore other paths in life.  You can see our ranch at www.honeybearranch.com

I believe I was attracted to and have been successful in real estate sales for the following reasons:

* I was trained in the fundamentals of business and marketing at a young age when I was a member of DECA (a young entrepreneurs organization) in high school.  I successfully competed at the local, state, and national levels.

* I enjoy helping people.  While working in both private and public childcare positions ( private nanny, summer camp, pre-school, tutor, public school substitute teacher) my employers expected and received compassionate and trustworthy care.

* I excell in research and communication.  My degrees in Anthropology and Biology attest to my ability in problem solving and fact finding.

* I love nature and animals. I grew up with horses, dogs, cats, etc. and today surround myself with them still.  As the child of a working single mother, enjoying simple outdoor activities was an affordable option that also gave us good values.

I think all these skills combine to give a well rounded perspective on  buying or selling rural real estate.  I look forward to sharing information and experiences.
